Finally! Some progress!

So, I've been fighting my urges to play ACNL all day and night, and tried to keep myself working and it's finally paid off! I finally finished one of my pieces. It's a Sue Coleman design of two eagle chicks in a nest on top of a totem pole. I've been working on it for over a year now, as it's a gift for J. When we were first married, I stitched him "The Eagle" by Sue Coleman after we completed a falconry course together. He would love to get a bird, but it's just not practical. Especially with how frequently you need to feed it - I don't want/need a baby that will stay that way for 20 years... Ugghh... The prospect is just not thrilling to me, despite that I would love to have a falcon/hawk of my own, that is just too much work for me. But he would like one, so I stitched him a picture of one for now. And since he has two "eagle chicks" now, this picture just seemed... appropriate.

Now that is accomplished, I'm trying to finish off a couple class pieces from last year's CSNF. I'm tired of having a multitude of extra pieces floating around. The one I've started with is a Dragon Dreams design by Jennifer Aiken-Smith with a mother dragon surrounded by babies and the caption says "Treasure them now... or Eat them!" (A sentiment I can often relate to with two pre-schoolers who drive me completely crazy quite frequently.)

It's been a long week otherwise... with the steady ups and downs in the weather, everyone in the house has gotten sick, recovered and then started to get sick again. Here's hoping we don't have another school year like last year and people aren't sick for another 6 months. But that being said...  I should get back to stitching!
